No Consequence - In the Shadow of Gods (2009)

This band has been touted in the same breaths as Born of Osiris and Veil of Maya, taking the poly-rhythmic groove-'Shuggahisms (Shahjizzgasms?) of the latter and infusing them with the weird note-suspending pzazz of the the former, but I'd like to instead compare them to The Arusha Accord, because that's what I do, apparently. They're Arusha's slower, groovier cousin, whilst also kind of having the same emphasis on desperate and not-so-desperate vocals.

For fans of the three aforementioned bands, Meshuggah, Sikth, and every band any of them have ever influenced.

Note: Judging from RYM reviews and Last.FM comments, a lot of people aren't too keen on this band's vocals, which I guess I can kind of understand. If you have an especial ear for--like I mentioned up there in the main paragraph--desperate vocals, you'll hopefully find something to like here.

This blog is for the semi-popular rarities that people seem to have a hard(er) time spending their hard-earned money on, and not for those "classic" albums that require an immaculate amount of patience to wade through. That being said, every album that's ever posted in this blog is and will be a staple contender in its genre, and should be heard if only to burn some time. These albums, in some way, raise and push the bar beyond their respective cohorts' limits. This doesn't mean that every artist besides these should be ignored. It just means "fuck man, this band is Goddamn amazing" and so on.

Nothing under 192kb/s is allowed, though I'll make exceptions when needed. I also won't post anything in FLAC unless otherwise requested because my internet connection is made of duct tape and chicken wire.

Your thoughts and opinions in comments won't go unappreciated, even if you hate something that's posted and insist on letting me know, so go for it.

Every album listed in this blog is for promotional use only, and isn't hosted on some server I keep hidden in my basement. Bands need support just like soon-to-be moms need Zoloft. Buy merch, go to concerts, buy CDs, and make twitter accounts professing your undying love for your significant-band. C'mon guys, don't be like that computer-savvy crowd in my high school who did nothing but gloat about their hacking skills as they downloaded Green Day's "Wake Me up When September Ends" off Limewire.

While I'll certainly be flattered if any band discovers this blog, I'll take down any link to any album if they so desire. Being tied up in a court case for months is the last thing on my wish list. Feel free to email me at feel_teh_bullshit@yahoo.com. It's an in-joke, but it's real.
